![]() Not to mention playing mission on another map also solves the issue of potential debris from whatever battles you do during the mission - i find dealing with massive wreckage after such events a bit of a chrore even with space master. and playing the scenario on another map would also prevernt property damage on your native map. ![]() The reason behind the another map is also to free up ram -> since your own map could be clunky with stuff already placed/build there (and the mission map would prob have only stuff relative to the mission so it would be more ram friendly). I would say i did answer - another system would be just a mission area - so you would jump in - do whatever the mission entitles you to do and then leave from workshop point of view thats the easiest way to implement that idea aka author of the map would place whatever he wants in that system then set a spawning marker where you would "arrive" with your ship and then let the mission plays out and after you finish it you would return to your own map with spoils or just the satisfaction that you were able to complete the scenario. This 'other system' would have other asteroids and maybe other planets, but there wouldn't be any new materials and it wouldn't provide anything that you don't already have access in the current system you are already in. I don't feel you answered casualsailor's question though. Well for starters if it would be inbuilt it would be way less of a hassle to do so. and i do see some decent potential for fun in this. and since most of the mechanism for doing this are already in the game - it shoudlnt be much of a hassle for the coding team to actually implement it.Īlso it would feel way nicer if you could build your ship and then send it off "on a mission" say like on the other prepared map - it would be nice from the gameplay point of view.Īnd it would imho entice ppl ot begin making more of such scenarios or maybe even some ppl from keen would actually make some nice scenarios to play with your pre built ships - current ones are limited at best. But from the game immersion point of view it would be nice - aka you wouldnt have to break the immersion - you would get the feeling that the game flow is natural and not disrupted - some ppl place quite a high value on that aspect. Well for starters if it would be inbuilt it would be way less of a hassle to do so (ya i know its not much hassle anyway). Originally posted by casualsailor:Whenever I see this question, I'm always curious as to the reason for it. Is there some other reason for wanting more than one system? It's large enough for dozens if not hundreds of planets and moons already. We have a cube of space that is 6.6 AUs in diameter. We could just populate the current map with those things. If there was something else for them to contain we wouldn't need a "different" map. That the new maps would have something better to do.īut they wouldn't. I think its not that people want to be able to copy their ship into a new map but rather they think that if we had this ability built into the game that the new maps would be "different." They believe that the new maps would contain different planets and moons. So why does this question get asked over and over again? You could already do this by simply creating multiple worlds then make a copy of your ship, load the new world and paste your ship into it. ![]() I mean if Keen were to give us a "System Jump Drive" and the ability to "load" a new map and take our current ship with us into it then how would this be any different than just making a copy of our current ship and loading a new map and pasting it in? Whenever I see this question, I'm always curious as to the reason for it. ![]()
